About
I am Cory Robbins, an American based in Hamburg, Germany. My work combines software engineering, data science, and economics to turn difficult, domain-specific problems into practical systems people can evaluate, operate, and improve.
Professional narrative
I am drawn to problems where the data is imperfect, the domain matters, and success depends on more than a model score. That includes AI evaluation, engineering and document workflows, decision support, and automation that has to fit real teams and production constraints.
Economics shapes how I approach technical work. Incentives, uncertainty, opportunity cost, and feedback loops are part of the system design—not an afterthought. Engineering adds the complementary discipline: make the assumptions explicit, test the failure modes, and build for the operating environment.
I enjoy working across the stack, from framing and data design through prototypes, evaluation, interfaces, and deployment. The common thread is practical independence: understand the system deeply enough to build, measure, and maintain it responsibly.

Beyond the work
Living between American and German contexts has made me attentive to language, culture, institutions, and the many ways people organize work and daily life. That global perspective carries into how I design and communicate technical systems.
Outside the screen, I make time for science, the outdoors, fitness, and exploring new places. I like building small tools, understanding how things work, and following a question farther than strictly necessary.
